INDIA has won 4 silver medals in the 10th KWF Karate World Cup held at
Tokyo Sports Culture Centre at Yumenoshima Park, Koto-ku in Tokyo, Japan.
The KWF Karate World Conference and World Cup is a biannual event
conducted by the KWF International headquarters based in Tokyo, Japan. This
year 17 countries had participated in the mega event of Budo Karate in the
World. KWF India has been regularly participating in the KWF World Cup and
2023 marks our 5th year of active participation since 2013. The Indian team is
been exclusively trained and mentored by the Chief Instructor and Leader,
Shihan Sachin Chavan, a 6th Dan Black Belt from KWF Japan, internationally
certified level “A” Instructor, Referee and Examiner in the KWF. He is the first
Indian, to be qualified as a member of the KWF International Karate Masters
Technical Committee, a matter of great pride for INDIA.
India had a team of 7 karate athletes and 2 senior officials at the World Cup. The
Indian participants delivered an exemplary performance. India also received
appreciation from many senior karate masters in the world for being the most
disciplined, polite and well-mannered team in the World cup. The team was the
perfect replica of their mentor.
The team was invited to the Embassy of India in Tokyo and felicitated for
their remarkable achievements. His Excellency, the Ambassador of India to
Japan, Shri. Sibi George sir appreciated the efforts of the team and
congratulated everyone for their active participation, representation of
India in the KWF World Cup and for winning laurels for our motherland
Bharat.

The team was put up for the special preparatory training program called
“Champions for Life” a year prior to the World Cup date, thereby emphasizing
on Physical, Mental, Emotional and Spiritual strengthening of each of the World
cup athletes from India. We believe that Performance equals Potential minus
Inner Interference. We have an ecosystem in place at our organisation
BUJUTSU & KWF India which comprises of subject matter experts to bring out
the best in the participant on a customised basis. This collective and holistic
approach made India shine at the 10th KWF World Cup in Tokyo, Japan.

2. Sensei Nehal Chavan – Deputy Instructor, Official & the only Women Judge
selected to officiate in the 10th KWF World Cup
3. Kairav Sachin Chavan – Silver Medallist in the Youth (14-15years) Jiyu
Ippon Kumite and Silver Medallist in Youth Team “A” Kata, 4th place in
Individual Kata for 14-15years.
4. Kabir Vivek Desai – Silver Medallist in Youth Team “A” Kata & 4th place in
Individual Kata for 12-13years.
5. Vrisheen Pratish Khakhkhar – Silver Medallist in Youth Team “A” Kata
6. Pranay Manoj – 4th place in the Men’s Open Individual Kata eve
7. Aneesh Amit Bhagwat – 6th place in the 10-11years Individual Kata event
8. Rohan Nandkumar Amberkar – Semi-finalist in the Men’s Open Individual
Kata event
9. Isha Jagdish Pednekar – Semi-finalist in the Women’s Open Individual Kata
